Here are some pictures from Teej, a holiday for women. They wear their wedding saris and go to a Shiva temple to get a blessing for a good marriage (or the long life of their husbands...which I guess is the same thing). They can also fast for day for the long life of their husbands. There was an article in the paper with a kind of "woman on the street" set of interviews with women about whether or not they fast. A lot of them said that their husbands didn't like them to fast all day. There is also dancing!
